Preparing for a Non-Academic Interview

Employers typically hold at least two interviews for non-academic positions. The first one is usually preliminary and assesses your understanding of the basic components of the job. This interview may also gauge your understanding of the employer and how your skill set could contribute to their overall mission. If you proceed from the preliminary interview, you will have at least one more interview to describe your specific skills and experiences relevant to the position and may also be tested on your technical abilities.

The Career Center has resources for the types of interviews you may have and also how to prepare for interviews.
