Career Course for Graduate Students
AMS 298: Career Decision Making for Advanced Degree Students (listed as "Group Study")
(2 units – S/US Grading | Course Prerequisites: Open to UC Davis Master's and PhD students only)
Offered through a partnership between the GradPathways Institute for Professional Development and the Career Center, this course aims to guide advanced degree students through career exploration and preparation of professional correspondence documents. Students will explore employment options, engage in career readiness and enhance skills for navigating the advanced degree job market utilizing design thinking. Highly interactive sessions include self-assessment and occupational research, skills development (networking, writing for the job search, interviewing) and interdisciplinary interactions with career professionals from a variety of industries and work environments.
This course is typically offered on Fridays mornings each quarter. Registration is available through specific CRNs sent out quarterly via graduate student listservs. No auditing of this course is available. Please contact careercentermpp@ucdavis.edu with any questions.
