José Roa is a Career Advisor at the UC Davis Career Center and advises undergraduate students and recent alumni in Health and Biological Sciences, Engineering, and Physical Sciences career fields. Jose is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Counseling with a specialization in Career Counseling and an emphasis in College at San Francisco State University. He previously earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health from Southern New Hampshire University. As a U.S. Army veteran, José has extensive experience in leadership, mentorship, and professional development. He has worked with diverse student populations, including first-generation students, veterans, and international students, helping them navigate career exploration, job searches, and professional growth. José is passionate about empowering students through career readiness, networking, and skill development. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and dogs, exploring the outdoors, and advocating for student success.
